This medium-size heirloom rice is treasured for its delicious roasted nutty taste, soft texture, nutritional content and beautiful deep purple colour. 

A natural source of antioxidants (anthocyanins), magnesium, protein and fibre, this ancient grain, referred to as “longevity rice,” was eaten exclusively by the emperors of China to increase health and ensure a long life. 

Lotus Foods has been purchasing our Forbidden Rice® from small family farms in the Black Dragon River region of China's sub-arctic Northeast provinces for over 20 years.

Jade Pearl Rice™ (426g)

Sushi-style, pearled rice infused with wild-crafted bamboo extract, which is a rich source of chlorophyll. It is grown on family farms in northeast China’s ‘organic’ belt using small-batch artisanal methods. These farming methods eliminate synthetic fertilizers and pesticides from the environment and help preserve the region’s fertile soils. When cooked, Jade Pearl Rice™ produces the aroma of a bamboo forest, a light vanilla taste and a perfectly sticky yet fluffy texture.

Organic White Jasmine Rice (426g)

An aromatic long grain rice grown on family farms in Cambodia. This premium variety of Jasmine rice is called Phka Malis, which in Khmer language means beautiful garland of flowers because of its delicate floral aroma. It has a soft, slightly sticky texture and fast cooking time.

Grown using More Crop Per Drop® farming practices (SRI) so farmers harvest more rice using less water and no agrochemicals while reducing methane off-gassing and physical labor for women.
